The process

Step 1 : Design

→ Designing is by far the most challenging part. The idea just came to my mind on a random day. I bought Mexican embroidery bands, took one of my old jeans, and placed them on it, and I had the main idea.
Then I knew I had to make it more unique. The Moroccan buttons and all the little pieces make it a unique Sierra Soul piece.
Of course, as I went further in the project, I had to settle ideas on how each model would be and make some changes myself (as for the moment each piece of the project is unique).

Step 3 : Content

There is of course so much content for the project to be something serious. Beyond the jeans, there is of course the process; nevertheless, the artistic content around it needs to be of quality, going from the pictures of the jeans to this text you're reading right now. Everything needs to work in perfect harmony in order to keep the same “soul” all over the place.

Step 5 : Validate CAS

The validation of CAS is for sure a crucial component of the project.

Step 2 :  Creation

The creation is surely a challenging part as I decided to use pieces from different places to create the final versions.
I had to find the buttons from local artisans in Marrakech, in the famous neighborhood of Mellah. I had to spend hours on a thrift website to find the jeans with the exact cut I wanted, while I had to browse for hours and hours for real Mexican embroidery.
Then I had to bring them to a couturier in order to help assemble all of the pieces.
It’s quite a messy process; however, that’s what I like, letting the creativity spark everywhere.

Step 4 : Website

The website acts like the heart of the project. Here you can find everything. Creating it and coming to its current version was for me a real pleasure to create. Honestly, I think that I liked this process as much as designing the jeans in a little Moroccan garage. The experience is surely not the same. However, I enjoy the state of deep focus that both of these moments provided me.

Step 6 : Expand !

After the project is validated, I can’t just leave it like that alone. It simply doesn’t feel right.
I want to design the jeans from A to Z and find a factory. Add even more details such as personal drawings on the back-pocket embroidery. I want to have a very sophisticated website and other pieces of clothing such as denim jackets and belts. Having a bigger production to impact as many people as possible with all the elements of culture that piece of clothing contains.
